The Investigator's Institute/Beth Lennon Symposium is designed for Law Enforcement, Prosecutors, Health and Human Services and Social Work personnel.   We hope you will select personnel from your agency that deal with child abuse and domestic violence.  This is a unique opportunity for cross training and networking between these important disciplines. 

The Symposium is held annually in January at the Town and Country Resort in Mission Valley.  This event is held in conjunction with the Annual International Conference on Child and Family Maltreatment, presented by Rady Children's Hospital/Chadwick Center for Children and Families. Promises2Kids is proud to have been sponsoring this training for San Diego County child abuse professional for 20 years. 
No cost for institute or parking.  Continental breakfast and lunch provided.  CEU's available.

Coordinated Investigative Response to Child Abuse (CIRCA) - also known as First Responders Training

Open to law enforcement and Health and Human Services personnel and others if space is available. Space is limited to 50 attendees.  This is a two-day event and attendance is required for both days. Training is on San Diego’s updated Child Victim Witness Protocol and how to handle crime scenes & cases, medical evaluation, interviewing and law updates. Focus is on coordination of law enforcement and child protection teams

Child Protection Team Lunch Trainings

A one hour bi-monthly lunch time training on Child Abuse topics of interest identified by the San Diego County child protection management team. The meetings are held at the San Diego Sheriff Department Training rooms located in Kearny Mesa.

What indicates abuse, when is abuse not likely, where do injuries occur, controversies and alternate theories, what can the physician say about abuse in court? Open to law enforcement, and health and human services personnel and others if space is available.

Child Protection Team Management Meetings  

Child Protection Team Management is a bi-monthly meeting at the Rady Children's Hospital -Chadwick Center involving supervisory and management staff of the San Diego Police Department, San Diego Sheriff Department, the District Attorney's Office, Child Welfare Services, San Diego COunty Counsel, Rady Children's Hospital , Palmar Hospital , the Commission on Children and youth and Promises2kids.  THe goal of the meeting is to seek ways to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of San DIego's multidisciplinary response to serious child abuse.
